Summer 3 and 4 (final ones)
Thank you to all that responded to the previous two assignments. Here is # 3 and # 4
Summer 3 - First find something that represents you and is small enough to fit in a shoe box. Second, find out a science connection to it. Third bring it in on the first day of school and be prepared to explain the connection.
Ex. My daughter Emily likes rocks. She could bring in a rock and explain that the type of science is called geology, it was found on Mt. Monadnock, and that it was smooth from weathering. My son Sam loves sports. He could bring anything he wants (hopefully not smelly shoes) and explain how science is involved - from aerodynamics to injury prevention to performance. My other son Stewart loves the weather. He could bring in his anemometer and explain how it measures the wind.
Summer 4 - Find an article in a newspaper, magazine, or online that has science in it. Not too long-not too short. Read it and bring it to school. I have a link on my blog to science daily (website) you may try.
